Airborne

Have been airborne for 10 hours. 2 to go. The airplane is beginning to wake up. It’s a little before 7am, Tuesday in Auckland. We land a little after 9.

Haven’t gotten much sleep, but feel good considering. Probably knocked off for about 3 hours. That makes it a lonnng time since 6am Sunday morning at 44 Spring St. The flight has been wonderful from the start. Very pleasant flight attendants, all Aussies. The ship continues to Melbourne.

Business class is pretty empty. I don’t know how many seats there are since there’s more than one section. I’m up front in a section w/ 18 seats. I think there are 6 of us total. Very nice. The seat is better than the one we had in the ER, but not much. It’s flatter, but it’s no bed.

I’m not being very introspective. Wonder if that will change. Right now the thing I’m thinking most about is the nuts and bolts of the landing and getting going. Like, where’s the hotel, when will I be able to get the room, how long is it going to take me to get my body switched to the time zone. And then there’s the fact that I’m flying to Wellington tomorrow. It seems as if there’s a lot to do. What’s new. It’ll all play out fine.
